The mining property is known as Dieter No. 1, Dieter No. 2, Dieter No. 3 and U. S. Mill Site, designated by the Surveyor General as Mineral Survey Number 409 A & B.
They are in Sections 15 and 23, Township 2 North, Range 45 West, Kateel River Meridian.
The claims were patented in 1912 and the patents are signed by Wm H Taft, President of the United States of America.
Nome is to the south and is accessible by a winter road/trail.
I am only asking $35,000.00 for this beautiful remote property which is accessible by Right of Way road from Wales, Alaska which is approximately 6 miles to the Northwest.
Wales has an airport which is serviced by commercial airline.
A brief background on the property:
I bought it through a real estate agency that had it listed by a lady who inherited it from, I believe, her father. She was near 70 years old and had never been there and her and her husband didn’t have any plans to go there or operate the mine or mill site.
When she listed it she didn’t know what to ask for the property and neither did the realtor so they told me to make an offer, which I did, but I really wasn’t expecting her to accept it as it was only an opening offer. For deeded property—in Alaska—I was prepared to offer up to $1,000.00 per acre especially in light of where it is. Keep in mind, I had never seen the property either.
I offered her $10,000.00 with $5,000.00 cash and $5,000.00 at zero percent interest for one (1) year. She took the offer.
The mill site is near a military runway over 5,000 feet long, I believe. There is a power generating plant with power lines close to the property. There is a military installation of some sort directly over the mountain from the mining claims with power lines. Wow!
